How Business Stack sorts software by workflow

Business Stack is a shelf of 37 software products for running a small Australian business, arranged by the workflow each one supports. The question it answers is practical: which tools exist for payroll, bookings, freight or quoting, and where do you check the details?

Workflows, not brands

Every product sits on one or more workflow shelves. Shelves with three or more products have their own page, and 8 are open now, led by booking and ticketing (6), ecommerce operations (6) and practice management (5). A tool that spans two jobs, such as taking bookings and taking payments, appears on both shelves.

What earns a place

The product must be a named piece of software with its own official site. A consultant who sets up software for clients is not a software maker and is not listed here. Each entry also needs Australian evidence from the vendor's own pages: 12 list an Australian office, 12 describe local operations, 7 state Australian origin and 6 name an Australian head office.

Useful links, no scores

Where a vendor publishes a pricing page, the entry links to it, and 17 do. We do not add feature checklists, star ratings or our own verdicts, because those cannot be traced to the vendor's site. Shelves are alphabetical so no product is pushed to the front.
